You can use groups when Nesting when you want to place your pieces in a specific way, either according to bundles, sizes, etc.
There are two types of groups available:

- Vertical: Allows you to group in a vertical manner, for example according to the sizes, so that you can save room on the cutter.
- Horizontal: Allows you to group in a horizontal manner, for example if you want to group by shades of the cloth and you want to place pieces that require darker/lighter cloth in the correct places.
- In the Marker, go to Nesting > Auto Nesting Setup:

- The Auto Nesting dialog appears:
- From the Alogrithm drop-down list, select the type of algoithm you would like to use.
- Note: You will only see algorthms for which you have licenses for.
- In the Time field, enter the amount of time you want the nesting to take place.
- From the Group Options drop-down list, select how you want to group the pieces, for example select According to Bundles.
- Select the Vertical Groups checkbox.
- Select the Additional Mixing checkbox if you have smaller pieces. This way the smaller pieces will fall into places where there is extra room.
- From the Shading (Horizontal Groups) drop-down list, select the number of horizontal groups you want to create. The number is defined according to the number of lines that are between the width of the cloth.
- In the Overlap field, enter Small, Medium, or Large to define the type of overlap. For example, if you want a small overlap between the bundles, enter Small.
- Click Set, then Start.
- The nesting process begins. The time it takes for the pieces to nest is according to the number you defined in Time.
- Once the nesting is done, the pieces will look like this:
