Marker : Groups Vertical Horizontal

You can use groups when Nesting when you want to place your pieces in a specific way, either according to bundles, sizes, etc.
There are two types of groups available:
  • Vertical: Allows you to group in a vertical manner, for example according to the sizes, so that you can save room on the cutter.
  • Horizontal: Allows you to group in a horizontal manner, for example if you want to group by shades of the cloth and you want to place pieces that require darker/lighter cloth in the correct places.
  • In the Marker, go to Nesting > Auto Nesting Setup:
  • The Auto Nesting dialog appears:
    1. From the Alogrithm drop-down list, select the type of algoithm you would like to use.
Note: You will only see algorthms for which you have licenses for.
    2. In the Time field, enter the amount of time you want the nesting to take place.
    3. From the Group Options drop-down list, select how you want to group the pieces, for example select According to Bundles.
    4. Select the Vertical Groups checkbox.
    5. Select the Additional Mixing checkbox if you have smaller pieces. This way the smaller pieces will fall into places where there is extra room.
    6. From the Shading (Horizontal Groups) drop-down list, select the number of horizontal groups you want to create. The number is defined according to the number of lines that are between the width of the cloth.
    7. In the Overlap field, enter Small, Medium, or Large to define the type of overlap. For example, if you want a small overlap between the bundles, enter Small.
    8. Click Set, then Start.
The nesting process begins. The time it takes for the pieces to nest is according to the number you defined in Time.
Once the nesting is done, the pieces will look like this:
